PATHFINDER INCREASES LAND POSITION IN
HERMITAGE URANIUM BELT, NEWFOUNDLAND

Prospecting Crews to be Mobilized to
Follow-up Multiple Uranium Targets

Pathfinder Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: PHR) reports the Company has staked additional mineral claims in the Hermitage Uranium Belt of southwest Newfoundland to increase its land interest in this emerging belt to approximately 316,000 acres (127,880 hectares). The new 100% owned properties were acquired to cover areas believed by Company geologists to be prospective for hosting uranium mineralization based on similar geology to where uranium has been found elsewhere in the belt.

Pathfinder’s new properties are proximal to Commander Resources’ (TSX-V: CMD) Hermitage and newly acquired Strickland properties. On July 18, 2006, Commander reported assay results of 2.79% and 1.64% U3O8 from boulders at Hermitage, as well as bedrock uranium occurrences at Strickland. Pathfinder’s properties cover the same stratigraphy that is host to uranium mineralization on Commander’s properties.

As reported June 6, 2006, preliminary geophysical airborne survey data from Pathfinder’s Hermitage West and East properties identified a number of priority radiometric anomalies and electromagnetic conductors. The final processed data is expected to be received shortly from the contractor. Based on this information, prospecting crews will be mobilized to the properties in August to follow-up select targets. Located 30 kilometres north of the coastal town of Burgeo in southwest Newfoundland, the Hermitage Uranium Belt is a newly recognized region where a number of uranium occurrences have been discovered along the belt. The region has potential to host large-scale uranium deposits as uranium occurs primarily as stratiform occurrences within sedimentary and volcanic rocks. Pathfinder is one of the dominant landholders in this emerging, under-explored mineral belt.
